The agency Brand Union asked MRF to make full typefaces out of the "handmade" versions residing on the labels for the bottles of Absolut Vodka.The client needed to different typefaces. One sturdy fat headline typeface and in sharp contrast but also as a compliment, a delicate script. This would form part of the new graphic identity as the brand itself were going through changes in brand positioning etc. The headline typeface only needed to have a full set of uppercases along with numerals and the most common signs. The script on the other hand needed all kinds of ligatures and alternates in order to fit a large number of combinations. Also both of the typefaces needed to look very close to the original, yet at the same time have a "flow" and consistency throughout the typeface.
